Back to "School"

Ryley started her second year of pre-school today and could hardly wait. She was up once in the middle of the night and then again at 5:15 am ready to go to school. And on her way she said, "Oh mom, I sure hope I get homework, I need homework!" I can only hope that she is this excited in her high school years. I'm actually really excited for both her and I, that she can start kindergarten next year. She is such a social butterfly that she is simply bored around the house. Ben was pretty sad that Ryley got to go to school and he had to stay at home. I think it will be fun though for us to have some time together.

There are 16 kids in Ryley's class and she is one of only six returning from last year. We had a little miss hap on our way to school, the car broke down and Ryley was besides herself insisting that she couldn't miss her first day. I explained that I would call Kev and he could come get us and then she would be able to go to school. Through her tears and pleading to start the car she said,"Hey mom, I have and idea, you can call 1-800 SAFE AUTO and they can fix our car." I didn't have the heart to explain this was just an insurance company with an annoying commercial and instead said that was a fabulous idea and that if papa couldn't help I'd do that. Needless to say she was only 30 minutes late and when she walked in her teachers had said that it wouldn't be a day unless Miss Ryley was there. I can only hope that this is a good thing.

First Day
(Ben has to be a part of everything Ryley does)

Grandma Marti was so nice to bring Ryley an outfit to wear to school on her first day but she started a week earlier. She was so excited to wear it the following Tuesday.

Ryley looks adorable. I love the picture of Ben and Ryley. Ben looks so grown up with the hat. I know about reading the Harry Potter Books. I stayed up until 3:30 in the morning after getting Harry Potter 7 so I could read the ending. Happy Reading!

That Ryley is so smart! I love the safe auto idea, I laughed out loud on that one. I can't believe your car broke down! How annoying!

I love how you're doing Ryley's hair. She looks so grown up! Has it only been a month since we saw here? and the Safe Auto comment is hilarious...how did she get to be so smart.
