So last Friday started out with an offer of two standby airline tickets to anywhere in the US. Our good friend Aaron called to see if we were interested and the plans were being made to head to Maryland to visit Nathan and Lori. Ryley and Ben were going to head to Grandmas and we'd be off on a weekend getaway! I should have known better the second the offer was made. Kev happened to have drill on Saturday and so we weren't going to be able to leave until late that night. With Thanksgiving coming up our flight options were limited and we pretty much would have been in Maryland long enough to say Hi and Bye. I kept telling myself it was probably for the best, hoping that would make me feel better. Needless to say it wound up being a blessing.
Sunday night we took a little trip to the ER with Ryley, she couldn't stop coughing and hadn't slept in two nights. After some antibiotics (Thanks Grandpa) , a chest x-ray and breathing treatment we found out the poor baby girl had pneumonia. Monday we headed to the doctor to make sure Ben didn't have the same thing. It was just sinus congestion that had been going on for three weeks and needed a little extra help. One more trip to the pharmacy for more antibiotics and then we all headed home for naps. To top it all off I ended up with the stomach flu and all of it's glory Monday night.
Side Note: As I laid on the couch fighting the need to throw up (I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick) I came to a realization. Every flu season that I haven't been pregnant, and forced to get a shot, I've gotten the stinking flu. When I shared this with Kev his response was ,"So what are you saying, you should just get knocked up again?" My reply was, "Um no, I was thinking I should just get the flu shot every year." Thanks for hanging out with me sweetheart in all my puking glory, Love Ya!
I guess that is what we get when we try to runaway for a spur-of-the-moment, romantic weekend.

Yeah...and that weekend in Maryland probably would have been just what you needed to get knocked up. BAH!
P.S. I never get the flu or the flu shot! I'm not going to knock on wood, because my actually getting the flu has nothing to do with what I say on blogspot!
Let me tell ya...there's no romance out here at our place. Its a bit frightening out here.
I'm sad to hear that you're all sick...especially poor Ryley. Will you still be able to go to Thanksgiving in Sierra Vista?
I'm sure it was not a fun household for awhile. I'm a day late but I hope you had a great birthday. It is hard on Sunday to do anything. Mine was on Sunday last year and we went out on Saturday. I hope you guys are doing better.
Ohhh, I hope everyone is well. I hope you were able to have an enjoyable Thanksgiving anyway.
what are you talking about?
ok...we'll work on getting those pictures taken...
and we'll also make sure you get some late pumpkin pie for your birthday...maybe for christmas...but i still don't know when any of your families birthdays are (including all millers) so that will be our attempt to make up for us not calling or anything...deal? later
Oh, I totally missed your birthday. My bad. I hope you weren't sick on your actual birthday, that would've really sucked. But having sick kids is enough. Hope they are feeling better real soon and let me know when you're in camp Verde for the holidays, we'll come over and catch up!
Kate & co....we just sent you a box of fabulous girl clothes that we packed way back in September!!! Enjoy and feel free to share with the other Mayberry cousins. It looks like a cool Christmas package, but alas...it's just old clothes, but we still LOVE you! ;)
