Well I survived the week with Kevin being gone, and so did the kids. Grandma Marti came and hung out Tuesday to Wednesday, which was a lifesaver. (We love you Grandma!) The kids were so excited when Kev walked in the door last night, it makes me want to leave for a couple of days just to get the same reaction. All I ever get is that I'm no fun and asked why can't I just go to work and Papa stay home. (I love motherhood!)
I had some errands I'd been putting off all week and so we loaded up last night an headed into town. The last thing I wanted to do was fix dinner so we stopped at Pizza Hut at ate in. Just after we were seated Kev got up to use the bathroom and Ryley, of course, also had to go. What happened next was hilarious! Ryley says, "Hey Dad, don't forget Steve." Kevin then says, "Oh yeah, I almost forgot," and takes off his hat and puts it on Ryley's head. I asked what this was all about and Kevin proceeded to explain... Ryley doesn't want anyone to know she is a girl in the boys bathroom so he gives her his hat and calls her "Steve". I died laughing as Ryley looked up and said, in a deeper voice, "Yeah, I'm Steve." I asked when she had started this and Kev said it's been going on for awhile now. No wonder she always asks Kevin to take her to the restroom. Ryley is a funny girl!

What is cute at this age will only require therapy in the teenage years...just kidding! She definetly has a great imagination...I'm sure that she keeps you on your toes!
Too funny, I too am an unappreciated mother, I'm telling you though if Rob and I swapped for a week they'd soon be calling for me back I'm WAY more fun in the long term.
That is a cute story. Isaac is also getting sensitive about the bathroom issue. He does not want to go with me into the "Girl's" bathroom. But I don't feel comfortable letting him go in the boys bathroom all by himself. I have to do alot of coaxing. Tell Steve hi for us!
:::LAUGHING OUT LOUD:::
That, dear Sister-in-law, is hilarious. Gosh, is there any way Ryley can just stay that way forever? Dave and I were talking about Ryley tonight, and we both hope she never changes.
I don't know if you hear this enough, but Katie, you are a great mom. Your kids, even when you think they are whittling days off your life, are really sweet, funny, cute little human beings, and that is pretty much your doing, you know.
Hilarious! WE loved this and have been telling it to everyone that we know. It was so nice to see you guys! I'm still sad that the kids get so big in between but I guess thats why we have out blogs so we can stay in touch.
I love Ryley!
SO FUNNY! Where do they get this stuff?!
Hilarious!!
