What a week...

So this week started out to be as crazy as planned. I picked up my mom and grandma at the airport early Tuesday morning (12:30am) and finally made it home and to bed by 2am Texas time. I was awakened with contractions at 3:45am that were 10 minutes apart. They kept coming and going so I tried to rest until I had to get Ryley up for school. I had so much planned for Tuesday, since it was the only day that I had left before I had the baby, but that was all thrown down the drain when I called into triage. The point of having a scheduled c-section is to not have to labor and my doctors agreed that I should come into the hospital so they could check things out.

So long story short, I sat around at the hospital all Tuesday afternoon waiting for them to possibly do my c-section. Only to be sent home at 4pm (starving) because the OR staff clocks out at 4:30pm and won't do any procedure that isn't medically necessary.

I was already scheduled to come in at 5:30am on Wednesday for my c-section but due to a "no bed" situation I was pushed back until 10am.

So here I am right before they took me back to the OR...

Having another c-section was not my ideal choice in birthing this baby but my choices were limited. I was really nervous about how everything would go down. Twelve needle sticks later and a round on nausea on the OR table and I was ready for this baby to be born. The doctors were great. Little Ethan arrived healthy and happy and I survived the surgery. We're doing well and are trying to rest. We had a rough couple of nights in the hospital and are adjusting to life with a newborn but life is grand. Here are some of my favorite pics that Kev took. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Katie you were looking like a champ in that picture! I didn't know you went and then were sent home again. But Ethan is so cute so it was alllllll worth it! I'm all confused now because at first I thought he looked like Olivia and now that last picture is Ryley! I'm so happy for Ben to have another boy and he looks like he adores his little buddy.

It still amazes me that the baby is content in the belly and within hours is out in the world breathing and doing well. It is a miracle. Ethan is a doll. I love the last two pictures the best. Love the yellow Binkie and he is so cute in the last picture!
