I'm Cheap

I've come to the point where I refuse to take my kids to get their hair cut. It almost always turns out like crap and I think I pay to much for it. Olivia hasn't had her hair cut since last October and Ryley's was cut in December. We've taken to just buzzing Ben, since it's the summer and hot. Well, I got tired of fighting Olivia and her tangles so I gave her a hair cut myself yesterday. It turned out just has good as had I taken her to get it cut (she wiggles a lot and I pacified her with a ring pop). My scissors were as dull as a spoon, but I didn't realize it until after I had made the first cut, so it is a little crooked. What can you do, at least I saved the $15. Now it's my turn for a hair cut, but I think I'll let the professionals work their magic. I tend not to be so wiggly.

That turned out adorable! I wish you still lived close... I'd totally have you do my kids hair! My boys never sit still for me, but will for anyone else willing to cut their hair.

You may be cheap, Katie, but you sure know your way around a dull pair of scissors! Well done!

Not bad at all. I have my mom do it when we are visiting but I need to learn. Way to be brave and just do it.

I remember when your hair was cut like that, I never had the nerve to do it myself. You did a great job and it really looks cute. Can't wait to see you all in 3 weeks.

Nice job! She is super cute, it wouldn't have mattered what you did to her hair! When do you guys move...or have you already?

That turned out great! The other trick is to put them in front of the tv. That is mesmerizing for any kid. Good job!
