Oh gosh where do I start... It is a little sad to me that this is really the first Presidential Election that I have taken the time to get involved. Maybe it's because I'm disappointed in how the last President panned out. I told myself that this time around I was going to really listen to the different platforms and vote for which I felt was right. Early on I was struggling with the dilemma of voting for the 'popular' vote or the 'right' vote. Between late night reading, You Tube watching and here and here I've been enlightened. I'm not so good with expressing my words but I must say that my BIL Brent does a fabulous job.
I'm attaching some video from the Conservative Political Action Conference held yesterday that simply makes me want to shout from the roof top. I guess I'm a little perplexed at how people can listen to this amazing man and not say, "Heck yeah, that's what it's all about!" I've decided that this is not a popularity contest and that my vote will not be cast in vain. Regardless of whether the candidate has a shot at winning. I think it is our responsibility as Americans to support those that stand for what this Nation was founded upon. I'm so, so tired of the back and forth politics and it is rejuvenating to hear someone who has always supported the same views. All I ask is that you take the 30 minutes necessary to hear Dr. Ron Paul out. My vote was for Ron Paul on Feb 5th and will be for Ron Paul in November. The only way change will happen is if we take a stand. If this video gives you the same conviction of truth, liberty and freedom that it does me pass it along. I'm open to other peoples opinions, so do share if you see fit.
The first video is an introduction of Ron Paul and the remaining three videos are his speech. Enjoy.

Sis-
I'm so sorry you've been brain washed like all the other Paulites! Ha, Ha! What a funny little man with an over-simplified view on EVERYTHING; without a grasp on reality and never a shot at the nomination (which explains his extreme positions on a all the major issues...ie.Iraq)! It's just too bad the real man for the job had to leave the race yesterday due to some shotty, backroom, Washington politics. It would have been nice to see the office of President returned to one worthy to lead in a truly Presidential manor! Good for you though on getting involved, though led astray!!!HEE, HEE!!! Watch that concession speech to see who should've gotten your vote.
All the best, Love, JDM
Your right Jake, why should we uphold the little thing known as the Constitution of the United States! Having civil liberties is way overrated. Love Ya!
Eek, I'm staying out of this one! I kind of just vote for whoever is the cutest anyhow. J/K. We were Romney fans and really don't like anyone at this point. My motto is anyone but Hillary at this point!
Katie,
A few things...
First, hello...I found your blog through Brent's.
Second, we'd like to be invited to your blog. Our blog is the2skinnys.blogspot.com
And lastly, thanks for posting these videos. I also enjoy hearing different sides of the issues and try to maintain an open mind. I have to admit, there are some interesting and tempting ideas that Paul has...but I'd like to hear more about how he would go about putting them into action--if they are truly viable or not. This election year has been eye-opening and enjoyable for me. I'm grateful for a mother who instilled patriotism in me from a very young age. America is truly great. Sure there are things that need improvement, but it helps me to try to focus more on the things that are GREAT about our nation!
I also really liked Mitt. Hey, there were a couple states that had the right idea Paul and Romney where their top two.
Hey Katie! Cousin Jill here. I enjoyed watching those clips on Paul. Drew and I are loving him. I hate what's going to happen this election. I would love to be able to read your blog still. My email address is jillanddrew@hotmail.com
Thanks! Your kids are so dang cute!
Katie,
I have been following the presidential election closely since it began over a year ago... so for better or for worse I am very familiar with all of the candidates....I have become very comfortable with Paul in that process in addition to having several friends who support/worship him....:)
When I see him speak a few things always come to mind...1) I don't think there is any question that of all the candidates' platforms his is by far the closest to the Constitution. While almost every American will say they support the constitution and will tell you how wonderful it is, most have no idea what it really says and most feel more comfortable with the system as it is. They prefer to hear the same old recycled jargon of modern day politicians than someone calling for a return to the constitution, because they aren't really sure what that might mean. 2) How much better would Paul do if he were better looking and younger? Anyone who says that looks don't matter in politics are giving the American people way too much credit..... 3) How much better would he do if he was a more polished speaker? While it is true that we elected a guy who spits out sentence fragments and garbles his words routinely, people are still drawn to politicians who speak well.....4) How much more support would he have if he was in favor of the Iraq war? While the War in Iraq is very controversial, I still think most Republicans support it and want a candidate who isn't looking to cut and run.... I know people who really like Paul, but refuse to support him because of his views on the War.....
On Romney.....I don't think he is dead, there is a very good chance he will try to run again in the future.....I know many who are hoping for a McCain/Romney ticket.....
