What a Weekend!

This weekend was a pretty eventful weekend. Steven, Kev's youngest brother, graduated from high school and we went to join in the festivities. It is always fun to spend time with Kev's siblings and spouses. Plus, the kids love seeing their cousins. It wound up snowing on the mountains the night of graduation so Lacy and I stayed home with all the kids, minus Travis (he went bundled up with Maren and Mathew). It was enjoyable to hang out, we played lots of games and attended a few movies and ate way to much food. Ryley wouldn't have a trip to Grandma's house without a horse ride.

Morgan, Penelope, Ryley and Olivia (all the girl cousins)

Ralph took us all to Kartchner Caverns on Saturday and I must say it was pretty amazing. Penelope and Olivia weren't doing so hot once we got in the cave itself and so Grandpa took the two babies out and waited for the rest of us. I really want to go back when the big room is open in the fall.

This was how we found Grandpa after the tour was over.

We also headed over to Benson to see Grandpa Jim (Ralph's Dad) and his brother at their Barber Shop. While we were there all the boys got haircuts. It was really cute to see Ben in the chair while his great grandpa was giving him a hair cut. Lacy was nice enough to take pics of the whole thing while I hung out in the car with the sleeping babies.

Not so excited about the haircut.

Ryley has to have her turn at everything (he just pretended to trim it).

We stayed through till Monday (Memorial Day) and all made a family trip to the new cemetery at Ft. Huachuca. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the cemetery was so nice and peaceful. It was a great experience for the kids to visit the grave sites of Kevin's teacher and soccer coach. Death is a lot for child to wrap their head around but the kids surprisingly get it. It's amazing to me how the knowledge of the gospel can really simplify things. I'm so grateful for all the men and women who have sacrificed so much for me to live in this free country. One of these days Kev and I hope to make it to D.C. for Memorial Day.

Just to clarify, when she says "it was nice to hang out with all of Kev's siblings and spouses", I only have one spouse!
