The Big Race

Well, earlier in the year I had voiced a resolution for myself and am proud to say that I accomplished it this last weekend. Some friends and I headed to Myrtle Beach, SC for a girls weekend. We had a blast shopping and eating and shopping, and shopping. We ended it with the Inaugural Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon . It was a blast and I can say I will do it again. We had been training forever for this and I was a little worried once the race was nearing because I hadn't ran much the 3 weeks before the race (the joys of having a husband in the military). Much to my surprise I did better than I expected and am very pleased with the results, 13.1 miles in 02:14:27.

This is what I saw as I hit mile 12

This is the finish line...

and this is me with my wicked big medal.

and these are the awesome ladies that I ran with.

Way to go!! We had fun doing ours also. Looks like your surroundings were significantly better than ghetto Baltimore where we ran.

I've commented like 1000 times on your run but really, can you get enough comments when it is for something as great as this? Answer: NO.

Your girls trip sounds like it was so much fun and I'm sure it was well needed. If you are ever planning on doing a run around where I'm at, let me know. I want to do another one too.

Congrats on the run. That is quite the accomplishment especially with four kids. Good time too! I bet it was a blast to have a girls weekend with lots of shopping. I'm glad you got to do it all. And the beach view is amazing!
